Diagram

Half-ice diagram of D-to-Wall Breakout to 2-on-1. Wingers line up at the top of the blue line with pucks, centres at the bottom of the blue line, and defence at the bottom faceoff dot. The winger passes to the D, loops low and opens up on the top half-wall. The D carries behind the net and passes to the winger on the wall. The winger carries up the wall and curls at a cone near the red line; the centre skates out and curls at a second cone; the D steps up. On the 2-on-1 the winger carries in and passes across to the centre while the D skates backwards (dotted arrow) through the middle, and the centre shoots.
